Portraits of Music
In collaboration with Leica Gallery Amsterdam
I would love for you to join me at the opening of my new exhibition Portraits of Music.
It takes place on Thursday 25 September 2025 at 7 pm, at Leica Gallery Amsterdam.
Address: Van Baerlestraat 74, 1071 BA Amsterdam
My passion for music started more than twenty years ago, when I began DJing. Music has never left me, even though photography eventually took over and became my main path. In the last two years I’ve returned to music, playing mainly techno, and I feel the same energy and curiosity that I had when I first started.
This connection between music and photography has always been there. I once spoke with Anton Corbijn in my studio, and he told me that he first picked up a camera simply to be close to the musicians he admired, never really intending to become a photographer. That story resonates with me. My own love for music gave me a reason to pick up the camera, to get close to the DJs I admired, to meet them and to capture them.
With this new series, created in collaboration with Leica Gallery Amsterdam and the Haarlem Conservatory of Music, I continue that journey. I photographed leading electronic music artists, always with Leica in hand, and also the talented young students of the Conservatory – maybe the DJs of the future.
It would mean a lot to share this evening with you. Please let me know if you can attend by using the RSVP button below.
