In the paid version of Studio Notes, I occasionally take a deep dive into one of my projects. Not to explain the work itself, but rather to explore what lies behind it. I explore the motivations, doubts, anecdotes, and decisions that never make it into an exhibition text. Of course, I also include the images themselves.

These deep dives are not meant as retrospectives but rather as working documents. They are a way of tracing how a body of work comes into being, how choices are made under pressure, and how meaning often only reveals itself long after the work is finished.

This first deep dive is about Karawan. It’s a journey through Morocco that started as a photography trip and quietly became a lesson in restraint, intuition, and knowing when to step back rather than add more.
